It’s that time of year again. That special, narrow window of time when we are fully committed to our New Year’s resolutions. Fully committed, at least, until January 17th which is a little-known (and guilt-free) holiday called Ditch New Year’s Resolutions Day according to Real Simple magazine. While it’s tempting to give up on New Year’s goals, research does show that 61 percent of people who write down the goals they want to accomplish are successful, compared to the 43 percent who do not put pen to paper, or stylus to tablet. We have also read on the internet (#MustBeTrue) that if you wear purple while writing your resolutions, you’re more likely to stick to them.
We think the best way to tackle your New Year’s resolutions is with full F.O.R.C.E.
F = FOCUS! May Kay Ash consistently taught the power of a Six Most Important Things to Do Today List. This simple habit can create a daily discipline that facilitates the consistent achievement of success one day at a time.
O = OPTIMISM! You’ve heard the phrase before, what you think about, you bring about! Optimism is the ability to see possibilities within problems and opportunities within obstacles. It doesn’t mean pretending that everything is perfect, rather it’s about making the most of and the best of what you have.
R = RESILIENCE! It’s not about how many times we trip, slip, or fall. What matters is how well we bounce back and get up. Life is full of second, third, and fourth chances if we choose to take them.
C = CONFIDENCE! When you believe in yourself, others will do the same! Confidence is the perfect accessory for any outfit so don’t leave home without it.
E = ENERGY! Each of us is a C.E.O. or Chief Energy Officer. We each have the power to determine the energy and enthusiasm we bring into our lives and into the lives of others.
If you take the time to make your New Year’s resolutions a springboard for success by looking forward with purpose, 2019 is going to be amazing! Allow us to quote one of our favorite series and say, may the F.O.R.C.E be with you! Share your New Year’s resolutions with us in the comments below.
